About Senja Roasters

Senja Roasters Cafe-Restaurant is a new business located in the beautiful Senja island. The cafe is operating together with a coffee roastery and in close co-operation with other business providing accomodation and activities in the area. South Senja is an attractive destination for tourists, and a location for many holiday homes. We want to offer these people the best coffee, amazing food and more reason to visit!

Senja Roasters Cafe is a new cafe-restaurant in Stonglandseidet, Senja. We are looking for a skilled chef who has a desire to further develop Senja Roasters´ brand together with the rest of the team. The job requires creativity, entrepreneurial mindset and commitment.

Sous Chef´s responsibilities include assisting the Head Chef to prepare menu items and develop dishes, baking cakes, pastries and bread.

The cafe will have a big seasonal variation on customer flow, and we are looking for a person who is happy to do different tasks in low season. These could be for example planning and preparing food for catering or helping in the coffee roastery.

Tasks and work responsibilities:

• Mise en place and patissier tasks
• À la carte brunch and dinner
• Quality assured food, special diets and allergens
• Work to achieve the company's and own goals
• Quality assurance and responsibility for HACCAP food is followed up in accordance with the Norwegian Food Safety Authority's requirements
• Follow up IK-mat routines, order items and item countm

Qualifications and characteristics:

• Culinary school diploma
• Experience as a Chef or Sous Chef preferred
• Ability to stay calm under pressure and flexibility to change between tasks
• Team player skills
• An initiative taker
• Solution oriented thinking
• Fluent in English
