Bodøregionens Utviklingselskap is a development company consisting of 44 large enterprises in the Bodø region and northern Norway. These enterprises assume an extended social responsibility and seek to contribute to the development of the region by creating more profitable jobs and collaborating with local policymakers to achieve this.

BRUS is a natural host company, the main purpose of which is to work with and help create new start-ups in the region. BRUS actively works with regional, national and international investors, as well as business and industry players.

Today, BRUS has four FTEs divided between BRUS and its subsidiary, Bodø Lufthavnutvikling. The permanent office location will be in Bodø.

We are seeking a new business developer/advisor who can help make the Bodø region an even stronger region, with a focus on business development, more jobs and increased value creation.

BRUS plays a key part in establishing the terms for growth and development in the Bodø region and, as a business developer at BRUS AS, you will have the opportunity to influence the future of the region, including by helping to create new business opportunities, helping to launch new start-ups and creating new jobs.

In the role of Business Developer, you would be responsible for working with hosts for start-ups, “invest-in-work”, advisory activities, arranging events and venues, as well as duties of relevance to the BRUS strategy. The role would entail some travel and contact with investment and business communities nationally and internationally.


We are seeking an individual with excellent communication and collaboration skills. We are seeking an individual who enjoys working as part of a team and who thrives under pressure.

The ideal candidate must be able to work independently and take the initiative. A key task will be to work with national and international communities with the aim of launching more start-ups in Bodø and the surrounding region. But you would also help further develop Bodøregionens Utviklingselskap AS as a strategic partner for business development, locally, regionally, nationally and internationally. We also emphasise knowledge and experience of policy work and processes, with a particular focus on the interaction between business, academia and politics.

We are seeking individuals with:

  • Relevant higher education – a minimum of bachelor’s degree level, but relevant work experience can compensate for any lack of qualifications.

  • Excellent communication skills, as well as fluency in English (spoken and written)

  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team and being an excellent listener

  • The ability to build networks

  • Previous experience of and a background in international relations will be an advantage

  • A background in and experience of finance and investment will also be emphasised

ABOUT THE SHAREHOLDERS OF BRUS

In 2021, the shareholders of BRUS had a turnover of around NOK 30 billion and between them employed approximately 6,400 people in the region, including 178 apprentices. Together, the enterprises contributed approximately NOK 3 billion to society through corporation tax. The enterprises in BRUS paid salaries amounting to approximately NOK 4 billion, which in turn contributes to society at large and welfare for all.

BRUS is defined on the basis of its shareholders’ ownership and areas of priority. BRUS works on business development to benefit northern Norway as a whole, but has a particular focus on the Bodø region, from Narvik in the north to Rana in the south. The region consists of a total of 13 municipalities with approximately 95,000 residents in total. The Bodø region is undoubtedly one of the most important seafood regions in Norway. The region is like a miniature version of Norway, with resources in minerals, the oceans, renewable energy and outstanding nature. Bodø is a natural focal point and one of the most efficient logistics hubs in the Nordic region.
